If you send a lot of messages, you’ll no doubt fully appreciate the full value of the emoji. Many new owners of the Google Pixel or Pixel XL are saying that the device frequently fails to show correct emojis correctly. If you experience this issue, you can try the following solutions:
Operating System update
The first thing you should do is check for an update. Do this by following these steps:
- Open the options Menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Go to More.
- Find and select System Update.
- Find and select Update Google Software.
- If an update is available, make sure you follow the directions and allow your phone to execute it. When it has finished you should try and send a text to test if there is a difference.
Different Software between devices
Another key reason for emojis not to work on your Pixel or Pixel XL is the software used by the sender being incompatible with your device. Some third-party text apps will use Emojis that the standard android texting app on your Pixel or Pixel XL won’t recognize.
The only solutions to this is to either ask the other person which app they use and get the same app for your phone. Otherwise you can advise your contacts that you don’t use a third-party app, and if they want you to see their messages on your Pixel or Pixel XL, they should refrain from using them too.
