Have you ever heard of the Developer Mode on LG G7 or LG G6? If you didn’t, it’s because it is well hidden and it isn’t intended for the use of the general public. If you did, it’s probably because you’ve already tried and tested everything you had at hand on your new LG G6 or LG G7 and you’re looking for something more.
Your intuition is right. There are some new features, settings, and controls that you can access from the Developer Mode. And no, there’s nothing you can do in there that will lead to damaging your smartphone. After all, you’re only enabling USB debugging for some advanced features or changing some settings. Especially if you’re looking to become a developer, you might just want to install some third-party apps or ROMs, things you can only do from this hidden Developer Mode of LG G6 and LG G7.
How to use LG G6 and LG G7 Developer Mode
When we say that this mode is hidden, we don’t just mean it’s an option buried somewhere deep down, at the end of a long selection of menus. The option is literally invisible, as long as you’re not performing a couple of simple steps that will make it show up on your LG G6 or LG G7 menu.
Luckily, the steps to make it visible and activate it are pretty simple and once you do it, nothing will stop you from exploring the LG G6 and LG G7 Developer Mode.
To make the Developer option visible in your menu…
- Go to the Home screen;
- Open the Menu;
- Tap on Settings;
- Select About Device;
- Find the Build Number option;
- Tap onto it several times in a row, until a prompt will show up;
- Right after that prompt, tap again four times and leave the menus.
Now, if you go back to Settings, you will notice that the Developer option just showed up on the menu, right above the About Device option.
Tap on it and in the window that will open, select the toggle dedicated to the Developer Mode. Now you have officially activated it and you just unlocked the LG G6/G7 hidden features from the Developer Mode. You’re free to explore and test.
