Many people want to use emojis when sending text messages, yet quite a lot of them complain that their Huawei P10 and P10 Plus won’t display it. As frustrating as it might be, this is not necessarily a problem related to the smartphone itself, but rather to the texting app or even the operating system version. Long story short, it’s usually a matter of software. And in today’s article, we’re going to show you the potential causes of you not being able to get emojis on Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
Problem 1 – your app doesn’t support emojis
There are all kinds of texting apps out there and some of them may not feature emojis. If you’re relying on a third-party app, perhaps you need to research a little bit about it. Now, if you’re using the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus built-in texting app, the good news is that it supports emojis. You just need to know how to activate it, by launching its Menu and tapping on Insert Smiley.
Problem 2 – your operating system isn’t up to date
An older OS can also be the cause why you’re not able to use or to receive emojis when texting from your smartphone. That’s why it can’t hurt to access the System Update settings and initiate a scan for the latest operating system version. If it detects a new version, you will be automatically guided on how to update the operating system. Until then, follow these steps:
- Launch the main Menu;
- Tap on Settings;
- Select MORE;
- Tap on System Update;
- Tap on Update Huawei Software;
- Select Check Now and see if updates are available;
- Follow whatever directions you get to install the latest update.
Problem 3 – incompatible texting apps
This situation is different than the first one because we’re talking about an incompatibility between your texting app and the one of the friend you’re chatting with. Both of them may support emojis, but if your texting app can’t see the emojis sent from another texting app, the only solution here is to agree using the same app. To avoid complications, and especially because your Huawei P10 and P10 Plus’s built-in texting app supports emojis, you can both use this one.
