Is your new LG G6/LG G7 restarting itself over and over again? This is what is known as a boot loop and has unfortunately been an ongoing issue for LG devices for the past few years. If you purchased the LG, or bought it second hand with the box included, you may still be on warranty.
In most cases the warranty active on your LG will help you to get a replacement or repair on your current device for free. You can contact LG directly to ask for warranty and repair information on your device.
If your LG isn’t new, but you’ve recently noticed your LG G6 or LG G7 to restart over and over, you may want to attempt some of these fixes to resolve the issue. We’d still recommend contacting an LG technician first before attempting our solutions.
Sometimes this issue can be caused by a newly installed faulty app on your LG. Alternatively, a recent software update could be causing the constant restarts. Think that this could be why your LG G6 or LG G7 is restarting? Follow the two solutions below.
The Android operating system causes the LG G6/LG G7 to keep restarting
Unfortunately new software updates can often bring more issues than they solve. If you recently updated your Android operating system, we would recommend performing a factory reset. You can follow this guide on how to factory reset the LG G6.
Make sure to back-up all of your data on your LG G6 or LG G7 before you reset it if you can. Once you factory reset it, all of your data will be lost forever.
An application is responsible for the sudden reboots.
Recently installed a new app? You can use Safe Mode to place LG in a safe environment where apps downloaded from the Google Play Store or from the internet are disabled. This can be good for removing faulty apps or solving other issues.
To boot into Safe Mode, switch your LG off, if it’s not off already. Next hold down the power button on your LG G6. As soon as you see the ‘LG’ logo on the bootup screen, hold the volume down button. Keep the volume down and power button held down – soon after your LG G6 or LG G7 should boot into Safe Mode. You can now delete any recently installed apps.
