The brand new OnePlus 5 is great because there are a variety of different controls, features, and security settings that OnePlus has decided to keep hidden from normal users. However, if you enable developer mode on the OnePlus 5, you are able to gain control of a lot of those hidden feature that can be changed on your OnePlus 5.
Using Developer Mode, you are able to control more aspects of their smartphone such as enable USB debugging to use advanced functions or change settings. If you are looking to try to become a specific developer, install ROMs or third party software, or just want to learn how to hack things mess with the new device, you will need to begin with having developer mode unlocked. This process is quite simple and easy.
Do I need to turn on Developer Mode?
When developer options are enabled on your OnePlus 5, it does not do any damage to your smartphone. Using Developer Mode, you will simple notice that the options are actually hidden for a reason. But, if you want to change your device, you will have to go to some of the settings.
Enable Developer Mode on the OnePlus 5
Initially, navigate to your settings menu. You can get here bringing the notification bar down and clicking the gear shaped icon close to the top of your display. Once you are in the settings, navigate to “About Device” and hit “Build number”. Once you have clicked it a couple of time, you will notice a prompt and then click a couple more time and you are finished.
Then, go back to the original settings menu on your OnePlus 5. Once there, you will see a new option that is above “About device”, Developer options. If you click on it, it will take you to past developer menu that was hidden and turned on to use it fully. Once you’ve turned Developer Mode on for your OnePlus 5, you will see a lot of settings for an advanced user.
