Apple will start selling the Apple Watch at John Lewis stores in the UK starting September 18th. In addition to all the 44 retail store locations, Apple Watches will also be available on the John Lewis website for both the 38mm and 42mm models.
WITH APPLE ALSO ANNOUNCING NEW DESIGNS, WE ARE NOT YET SURE HOW MANY WILL BE ON DISPLAY AND AVAILABLE TO TRY OR BUY AT JOHN LEWIS. THE COMPANY SAYS IT WILL STOCK A “CURATED SELECTION”. BUT THE MOVE IS A NO-BRAINER, AWARENESS OF SMARTWATCHES HAS BEEN STEADILY GROWING ALL YEAR AND, EVEN THOUGH APPLE STORES ARE FULL OF FANS TENTATIVELY PRODDING THE WEARABLES, THERE’S PLENTY OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE UP CLOSE.
Apple has already been selling Apple Watches in Australia at Myer locations. Over 30 countries have access to the Apple Watch including countries like the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
The starting price for an Apple Watch is $349 for the 38mm Sports model and the price for the 42mm model is $399. In addition, the regular Apple Watch model price starts at $549, and an extra $50 more for the 42mm size.
