After some time, Bank of America has joined the ranks of Chase and Citi bank to provide Touch ID support for it’s iOS app to help logging in much easier. The Touch ID feature allows users to sign in without having to type in a password, which makes the usability of the app much better.
In addition to the Touch ID support, Bank of America has also made its app compatible with the Apple Watch. For customers that own an Apple Watch, you can now access the Bank of America app directly on your watch and view things like recent transactions, balances and other banking options.
Bank of America has said:
THIS FEATURE ALLOWS ACCESS TO THE MOST COMMON FUNCTIONALITY OF THE APP WITHOUT THE ADDITIONAL NEED FOR A PASSCODE. AS PART OF THE BANK’S ONGOING COMMITMENT TO STAYING AHEAD OF ADVANCEMENTS IN MOBILE DEVICEAUTHENTICATION, THE TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTING FINGERPRINT SIGN-IN WAS BUILT ACCORDING TO FIDO (FAST IDENTITY ONLINE) STANDARDS.
It has also been said that this update provides a modified Security Center that is much better than before. For those customers that are using the Bank of America app, you now have a few new tools to manage security and other settings. This is all welcomed by Bank of America customers as it now allows them to have more control of their digital banking security, and they can even opt into extra security features.
