Connection To Server Failed – Email Error On iOS 10.3 Solution

All over the world, users of iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5S, 5C, 5 or 4S, even iPad users, whether they are running their devices on iOS 10.3, iOS 9 or iOS 8, they can all encounter, at some point, the “Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed” error. It seems to be closely related to Microsoft Exchange trying to retrieve new emails and it is quite upsetting, especially for those who got used to checking their messages over the phone and not on the MAC.

  1. Retype the account passwords – if you have recently changed the mail password from your desktop, the smartphone might still try to use the old password, hence the “Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed” error.

 

Start the iOS device and access the Settings app. Under Mail, Contacts, Calendar, tap on Account and then on Password. Enter the new password and wait for the device to prompt you to sign in for making the change. The point is to be asked to sign in, to operate this change, and then the email account should refresh its emails and start getting new messages into the inbox.

  1. Change the password settings – on Microsoft Exchange or Yahoo, it doesn’t really matter what email client you’re using, try to change the password settings. Retest to verify if the connection is functional once again.
