Does iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max And iPhone XR Have LED Notification?

There’s no Apple owner out there who didn’t notice the LED Notification on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and iPhone X from the first hours of using their new devices. Maybe you were familiarized with it from your previous smartphones or maybe it’s something new. Whatever your situation, today we’d like to tell you a few things that chances are you didn’t know about it.

First of all, the LED notifications are LED lights on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone X that blink shortly, in one of the few default available colors, whenever you have unread notifications. They double the audio notifications of the loud ring mode, so that, in case you’ve missed that signal, you can notice it even later on, before you get to unlock the screen.

Say that your iPhone is waiting for you to read a notification but you haven’t unlocked it in a while? It will blink until you do so. During the day, it’s extremely useful. But is it just the same, at night? Unless you’re not expecting to get notified about matters of life and death (in which case, you probably won’t rely on the LED lights alone), you don’t need it at night.

To turn off these LED notifications on iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max And iPhone XR…

  1. Head to the Accessibility tab (General << Settings << Home Screen);
  2. Identify the option labeled as “LED Flash for Alerts”;
  3. Select it and disable it with one, simple toggle switch.

You know how things work, don’t you? This general setting can either apply to all your notifications or to none of them. So, if you’ve taken the “extreme” decision of turning it off, if you will ever need it back on, repeat the exact 3 steps. It will probably take you 3 seconds or so, but that’s really all there is to know about the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max LED notification settings!
