There’s no doubt that you can access your contacts list on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus just as fast as you can tap the Phone app’s icon. But if you literally have hundreds of entries in there, this kind of fast access won’t help you much. So, let’s see if there’s one way we can narrow down your search and speed things up, at least for your most frequently accessed contacts?
That’s right, we are talking about using the Add Favorite Contacts option. Something that many smartphones have and all iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will also feature. In case you’re not familiarized with it, the principle is simple. The contacts you add to the Favorites list can be accessed from a separate list of the Phone app. If you manage to take out only a short list of people from that long list of all your contacts, the Favorites list will make a huge difference. If, however, you populate that list with so many favorite contacts that you will still have to scroll through it, it might not be as helpful as you thought.
But just to get you covered, coming up next, we will show you how to add new favorite contacts and remove previously added favorite contacts.
To add a favorite contact on the iPhone 8 / 8 Plus:
- Unlock the screen of the iPhone;
- Navigate to Phone >> Favorites;
- Within this section, identify the plus symbol;
- Tap on it and you’ll access your agenda;
- Select the contact that you wish to star / favorite;
- Tap on their mobile number and it will be added to the favorite list.
Once you do it with more than one contact, you will notice a pattern. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus don’t really give you any controls regarding the display of those favorites. You mark the numbers and the contacts will be listed alphabetically. If you’re willing to edit their names, you will certainly get to control the order, but that isn’t necessarily something you’d like to waste time with.
Before we close this tutorial on how to add favorite contacts on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, let us share with you one last detail. If you ever decide to remove a contact from this special list, all you have to do is to uncheck the star icon displayed next to their name. That’s all, try it!
