If you’ve ever received a call with a hidden number, you must have asked yourself how is it possible, right? Well, you have your answer – the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr users, just like any other smartphone users out there, have this option to block the number.
Basically, blocking the number means that you are initiating a call without letting the other device to display your phone number. Some people use this option to make a prank call while others are just reaching out to a person for the first time and want to keep their contact details private. Why you need it will obviously matter less than how you can get it. And for the second part, we have your instructions listed right here.
How to block your number on iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr, iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus in 5 easy steps:
- Turn on the smartphone;
- Go to Settings;
- Select the Phone option;
- Select Show My Caller ID;
- Tap on its toggle to turn it from On to Off.
Now you can say that you have officially blocked your number from showing up on the display of the people you call. When you try to reach someone from your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, that person will either see a “Blocked” or an “Unknown” notification message on the screen. That’s all, but keep in mind that your number will remain hidden for as long as the Show My Caller ID option is turned Off. At some point, you might want to reconsider that option!
