The way that Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices work is governed by certain standard settings. While these settings can be customized by the users, they come, by default, with features designed to preserve and make the best use of the iPhone’s resources. Take the Auto-Lock option, the one that “tells” the iPhone to turn off the screen after 30 seconds of not being used in any way…
Despite the fact that the resources taken by the display just for staying on are not significant, when you are running out of battery, you might be tempted to tweak that one too. Or, on the contrary, you might feel the need to extend that period of time, for whatever reasons.
That’s why we are going to show you the path towards the Auto-Lock option. You’ll find all your options listed in there, you’ll have all the freedom to choose the best time frame that fits the way you’re using the iPhone and you won’t need anything else. So, let’s get you started.
If you want to keep the screen On for longer on the iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone 8…
- Head to the Settings section;
- Right within the General options, browse for the Auto-Lock;
- You’ll see it comes with its own settings, different time values that go from a few seconds to more than 5 minutes – select the one you would like to test and leave the settings.
From now on, the screen of the iPhone will lock – only if you are not touching it and not playing any video on it! – within the time frame specified by you through the Auto-Lock setting. You might notice some changes in the way that the battery drains (or lasts longer), depending on how you adjusted that value. But otherwise, you are supposed to get the kind of experience that you have envisioned from the very beginning.
If this still isn’t the right value for you, you can keep the screen on for longer on the Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus. You can even completely disable the Auto-Lock!
