Different people have different needs and expectations. But juggling with it all is certainly what makes an Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max to be so popular. Let’s talk the screen dimming option, for instance. As expected, the manufacturer has selected a default time frame. Once that time elapsed, unless you’ve touched the screen in the meantime, the display will go black and you’ll have to manually unlock to continue using the device.
The standard setting is said to be 30 seconds. It goes without saying that some users will find this to be too much and others will consider it’s too little. The good thing is that each of them can manually edit the standard setting and select a new, different value, from a list of pre-defined options.
Whether you want to turn off the screen faster or you prefer to keep the screen on longer on iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus gives you plenty of options. And if you have nothing against using more battery just to keep the screen light up for longer, just read on!
If you want to stop the screen dimming on iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus…
- As suggested, there is a special setting that you must find and edit, which will obviously begin from the section with general Settings;
- Tap on the General tab;
- Browse for the so-called Auto-Lock option;
- Look at the options listed in there – from 30 seconds to 5 full minutes, you have a lot of choices;
- Select the desired value and leave the settings.
Now that you’ve taken care of this issue, the iPhone 8, iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max screen dimming should no longer take you by surprise. Your iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus will behave just as expected – or, better yet, just as you have “instructed” it. Go on and experience with some of the values listed in there. You can always get back to the Auto-Lock option and make adjustments if you feel that something is not right.
