When they say that you can do pretty much anything on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, they also mean making payments. This is possible with the Apple Pay feature, something that comes pre-installed on all iPhone devices and that you also have at your disposal.
This digital wallet – because that’s exactly what it is – will help you create a virtual storage space for all your credit and loyalty cards, boarding passes, and so far, and so on. When you store the details of these services into your Apple Pay app, you can access them from one place.
But while the Pay feature is built-in, you still need to install the adjacent apps. If, for instance, you would like to use Passbook to access your boarding pass from American Airlines, you’ll have to go to the App Store to get the American Airlines special app first.
Coming up next, we will show you how to set up the Passbook and, separately, how to set up the Apple Pay.
To set up the Passbook on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus…
- Unlock the iPhone;
- Go to the App Store;
- Download the app with a Passbook feature (like in our example with the American Airlines boarding pass from above);
- Launch the app after you have downloaded its software;
- Open it as soon as it’s ready and use the entry labeled as Add to Passbook.
Once the app has become a part of the Passbook, you can continue using it from the Passbook feature, where you will keep your credit card details in one place. That’s how you get rid of all the middle apps and make your life easier.
To set up the Apple Pay on iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus…
- Turn on your iPhone;
- Launch the Passbook app;
- Use the plus icon;
- Hit the option Set Up Apple Pay;
- Enter the details of your debit or credit card and start using Apple Pay.
