Apple products are seen, to some extent, as being quite exquisite devices. When purchasing an iPhone or an iPad in iOS 11 and iOS 12, one might therefore not even think that this option – to use it as a flashlight – is available. Only that it is, obviously, as a part of the more practical-oriented side of these smartphones and tabs. Long story short, if you want, you can activate the flashlight widget, with a mention that you shouldn’t dream of anything similar to, let’s say, a LED Maglight.
So, moving on from the fact that it won’t be a particularly powerful source of light, it is, at least, easy to access and handy when there’s no alternative. Yet another thing you’ll love about it is that, as a widget (not an app!), it can be activated from the list of widgets of your iPhone or iPad in iOS 12 and iOS 11. You don’t need to go through the process of finding a third-party app in the Apple store and add even more data on the device.
Flashlight Widget On iPhone And iPad In iOS 12 and iOS 11
- Go to the main screen;
- Swipe up, with one finger, from the bottom of the display;
- When the menu extends, identify the dedicated Flashlight icon – probably somewhere in the lower-left area of options.
Surprising or not, this is everything it takes to use your Apple iPhone or iPad in iOS 12 and iOS 11 as a flashlight.
When you want to finish off, repeat the steps – go to the same menu of the device and tap once more on the flashlight widget. You will see that the light shuts off and the device gets back to its normal functioning.
Alternatively, you can go to the widgets section of the device and add the Flashlight widget straight to the main screen of the iPhone or iPad in iOS 12 and iOS 11. That way, whenever you will need it again, you won’t have to access the main menu anymore. It will be right there, at your fingertip.
