In case you didn’t know, your OnePlus 6 includes a special navigation mode known as Multi Window. When you turn on Multi Window Mode on OnePlus 6, you get to use the Split Screen View, a feature that literally splits your screen in two and allows you to look at two apps at the same time.
So, instead of having a single app that covers your entire display with its main window, you can have two of them. And you can choose if you want the two apps to share equal space on the screen or if you need one window to be larger than the other.
Moreover, the two apps aren’t just visible at the same time, but perfectly functional. In other words, you could be working on an email while keeping an eye on your Facebook page or use whatever other combos you’d like to try.
One thing to note, however, is that not all apps will work in the OnePlus 6 Split Screen View or Multi Window Mode. If they weren’t developed to include this feature, you won’t be able to run them while the Multi Window Mode is on. But that’s something you’ll easily notice when you’ll get into action. Until then, let us show you how to start using the Split Screen on OnePlus 6.
If You Want To Activate Split Screen On OnePlus 6…
- Unlock the device and access the Settings main menu;
- Go to the Device tab and find the Multi Window entry;
- At the top-right corner, you should see the dedicated toggle for the Multi Window – tap on it and switch it from Off to On.
These are the three essential steps for activating the OnePlus 6 Multi Window mode, so you can then enjoy the Split Screen View. Other things you might want to take into account concern how and how often you would like to use it.
For instance, you might notice that the Multi Window menu has another entry labeled as “Open in Multi Window View”. If you check the box for that option, you will activate the Multi Window Mode as the default viewing mode. Do that and the apps you’ll be launching will only expand on half of the screen.
Right after you enable this option, the screen will show you a grey semicircle, the sign that this new mode is up and running. Tap the semicircle and you’ll bring the main Multi Window to the top. Next, you can start dragging the icons of the apps that you want to run, right to the window (the half of the screen) where you want to open it.
Like we said, you don’t have to grant equal screen shares for the two apps. If you tap and hold the same grey semicircle, you can drag it up or down and adjust the sizes of the two screen sides. Go on, put into practice this short OnePlus 6 how to split screen guide, it will be a very exciting experience!
