How To Turn OFF Background Apps On OnePlus 5

For those that have bought the new OnePlus smartphone, it’s a good idea to know how to turn off background apps on OnePlus 5. The reason why you would want to know how to do this is because these apps running in the background are draining the battery and causing your One Plus 5 to run slower.

Apps like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Email and other apps are constantly connecting to the Internet to stay updated and provide you with notifications or other types of alerts. This constant connection uses lots of battery, data and reduces the performance of your device. It would be better if you would manually update these apps only when you need them to save data, battery and increase the speed of your OnePlus 5.

How to close background applications:

  1. Power on your OnePlus 5
  2. Go the Active apps icon
  3. Hit End next to the app you want to stop. You can also select End all to stop everything at one time
  4. Then tap on OK if required

 

How to close and disable background data for all services:

  1. Power on your OnePlus 5
  2. Open Settings
  3. Tap on Data usage
  4. In the top right hand corner tap on the three dots Setting button
  5. Uncheck “Auto sync data”
  6. Tap on Ok

 

How to disable background data for Gmail and other services:

  1. Power on your OnePlus 5
  2. Go to the settings menu, and tap on Accounts
  3. Select the name of the account
  4. Uncheck the services you don’t want running in the background

 

How to disable background data for Twitter:

  1. Power on your OnePlus 5
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap on Accounts
  4. Select Twitter
  5. Uncheck “Sync Twitter”

 

How to disable background data for Twitter:

  1. Power on your OnePlus 5
  2. Open Facebook
  3. Go to the settings menu
  4. Tap “Refresh Interval”
  5. Tap on Never
