How To Turn ON And OFF Autocorrect On OnePlus 5/OnePlus 6/OnePlus 6T

If you’ve bought a new smartphone from OnePlus, you may want to know how to turn off and on autocorrect on OnePlus 5, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Originally, autocorrect was developed to help users to find and fix small errors when typing on your device.

But autocorrect also has some drawbacks as well, including changing slang, and ever correctly spelled wrong into something you don’t want. For some this can be a headache that they don’t want to deal with and prefer to have autocorrect disabled on OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 5.

For those that want to disable autocorrect on OnePlus 5, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, we’ll explain how to do this below. You can also follow the steps to remember on how turn on autocorrect on OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 5, the only difference is that the last steps will be to change the toggle to a different location to enable autocorrect on One Plus 5, One Plus 6 and One Plus 6T.

 

How to turn on and off autocorrect on OnePlus 5/OnePlus 6/OnePlus 6T:

  1. Turn on your OnePlus
  2. Bring the keyboard
  3. Next to the “Space Bar” tap and hold on “Dictation Key”
  4. Tap on the gear looking button that is “Settings”
  5. Tap on “Smart Typing”, then select on “Predictive Text” and finally disable it
  6. Another method would be to go to the Settings of the phone and make these changes

 

If you want to turn on autocorrect on One Plus 5, One Plus 6 or One Plus 6T later, you can always follow the steps in the same order as above, but change the toggle to enable autocorrect.

We should let you know that if you’re using a third-party keyboard that was downloaded from the Google Play Store, the process to turn on and off autocorrect on One Plus 5, One Plus 6 and One Plus 6T is a little different but the concept is the same.
