Autocorrect Tips On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus

Autocorrect is a generally useful function in Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ Plus. Many users were more than happy with it, as it helped them fix typos and spelling errors. But just like any other function that acts on its own, it can become annoying at times.
Despite the large database of words it relies on, the Autocorrect is still software; therefore it cannot rival human thinking. And there you are, frenetically typing a text that you need to send ASAP, just to notice that Autocorrect messed with it. When it corrects correct words, you have a problem with it, right?

Depending on how much it annoys you, you have two options: the moderate one is to adjust its settings, and the radical one is to simply disable it. Though if you disable it, you might miss it soon enough.

In this article, we will explain you how to access this function and activate or deactivate it however you please:

  1. From your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus, access any screen where you can use the keyboard;
  2. Look around the Space Bar from the keyboard to identify and select the Dictation Key;
  3. From there, go to the Settings option and identify the Smart Typing function;
  4. Underneath that tab, there should be an option labeled as “Predictive Text” that you will have to disable;
  5. While there, look for another option relating to auto-capitalization and punctuation – disable that one as well;
  6. Close all the menus and get back to writing texts.

From now on, you shouldn’t be bugged by inappropriate corrections anymore. Like mentioned, you can still follow the same steps from above once again, just to activate whatever options you deactivated in the first place.

If you’re using another keyboard than the standard keyboard available through Google Play, chances are the process will be a bit different, for both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus. It all depends on the keyboard’s layout. But now you should at least have an idea about what types of options you need to track down and deactivate.
