Changing Vibrations On Samsung Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus

Knowing of there being more than on way that your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus can vibrate may come as a surprise to many. Some of you might have probably noticed that as you type and press buttons on your Galaxy S8, the will be a satisfying pushback from your device. The vibration feedback and the way of vibration are both customizable when receiving a text message or a call maybe. And the customization process is pretty simple as well.


Changing the intensity of vibration on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus

When receiving a text message or as you begin typing on your newly acquired Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus, you can’t help but notice a cool feedback as your device vibrates. You can customize this setting to make it more or less pronounced as you swipe on your screen.

  1. Swipe down from the top to reveal your Notification Shade
  2. Hit on Settings on the upper right corner
  3. Then hit Sounds and vibrations
  4. Hit Vibration intensity
  5. From this page, adjust vibration intensity in 3 categories;
    • Notifications
    • Incoming call and;
    • Vibration feedback


Touch on the corresponding slider on the left to decrease or increase the vibration intensity. As you continue adjusting the intensity, the phone will vibrate according to the level of the corresponding intensity location of the slider so you can know exactly what you are setting.


Changing the vibration pattern on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus

If you are having problems noticing whether your phone is vibrating either in your bag or your pocket, try changing the vibration pattern to make your vibration notifications more elaborate.

  1. Open the Notification Shade by swiping down from the top of your screen
  2. Hit on Settings on the upper right corner
  3. Hit the Sounds and Vibrations key
  4. Hit on the Vibration pattern
  5. Then press on a Vibration Option from the list provided by touching on it
  6. Basic call for a continuous even vibration
  7. The heartbeat for a pulsing, double vibration
  8. Tick tock for 2, long and even vibrations
  9. Waltz for long, quick vibration pattern
  10. Zig-zig-zig for 3, even vibration pattern


When you experiment with different vibration intensities, it is also a good way of customizing your phone to your taste. You can also enable/disable vibrations for particular notifications, for instance when you receive a call, your Galaxy S8 can have both the sound and the vibration notification.
