Failed Camera Samsung Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus (Solution)

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus, you most certainly use its camera app too. That’s why, at some point, you might bump into this “Warning: Camera Failed” on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus error that is clearly preventing you from using the camera altogether.

This kind of problem – which, by the way, can’t seem to be solved, not with the reboot and not with the factory reset – can either be easily fixed (with one of the three options from below) or require professional assistance. We suggest you start from here:

Restart The Smartphone And See If The Camera Error Disappears

This action will take less than 10 seconds but it can fix the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus “Warning: Camera Failed” error that keeps popping up. Simply tap and hold, at the same time, on both the Power and the Home buttons. The Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus will turn off with a short vibration after approximately 4 seconds. When it turns back on, launch the camera and see how it goes.

Force Stop The Camera App And Clear All Its Data And Cache

Just in case it’s a software bug, suffices to handle it from the Application Manager. Open up the Settings center, head to this section, and select the Camera App from that long list with all your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus apps. First use the Force Stop option, to make sure you stop it from running, and then use the Clear Data and the Clear Cache options.

Clear The Cache Partition Of Samsung Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus

If you’re still reading this tutorial, it must be because none of the first two options helped with the camera failed problem. Coming up next, you’ll have to boot into Recovery Mode to clear the cache partition on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. Turn off the phone and, this time, tap and hold, at the same time, on three buttons: Power, Home, Volume Up. You can tell you’re in the Recovery Mode right after the Android System Recovery Screen loads, when you can also release the buttons.

In this running mode, head to the Wipe Cache Partition menu (with the Volume Down key) and start it (with the Power key). After that, use the Reboot System Now menu to return to the normal mode and test the camera app to see if the failed camera on Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus has been solved.
