Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus: Add or Remove Widgets

Widgets are nothing but simple application extensions, most often a part of a more complex application installed on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus. These widgets come as smaller or larger icons that you can drag around the screen, select, edit and organize however you need, right on your Home screen.

In this short tutorial, we are going to show you the exact steps of how to add or remove widgets in Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus. You’ll see there’s no much difference from adding or removing any other app or icon.

To add a widget on Samsung Galaxy S8’s Home screen…

  1. Access the Home screen manager editor view;
  2. Go to any of the Home screens set up on your device;
  3. Find an empty place on the screen;
  4. Pinch the wallpaper with the thumb and the index finger;
  5. In the newly opened window, look for the menu from the bottom of the screen;
  6. Tap on Widgets;
  7. In the newly opened list with all the widgets from your smartphone, select the one you want to use;
  8. Tap and hold that widget;
  9. Drag it on the Home screen area where you would like to place it;
  10. Release the widget on top of the desired spot or drag it right or left, flipping between the available Home screens.

To delete a widget on Samsung Galaxy S8’s Home screen…

  1. Just identify the widget you would like to remove;
  2. Tap and hold that widget;
  3. Once you have selected the widget and you notice new options popping up on the screen, drag it on top of the trash icon;
  4. Release the widget in there and it will automatically disappear from your Home screen.

As mentioned, it’s pretty much a basic add or remove operation for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus. This time it was a widget, next time it could be any other type of icon. Select, identify the type of file and your options, and just use them.
