Ever heard people talking about their favorite contacts on a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus? Or, perhaps, you’ve bought your own smartphone of this kind and, as you were synchronizing your agenda, you’ve noticed this star sitting next to each name? The star symbol is the fastest path to adding or removing a particular contact, currently registered on your agenda, to or from the favorite list.
Think of it as to a shortcut for accessing your most common dialed numbers. Not like your recent call history, but more like something where all the persons you’d like to be able to call almost instantly are listed. Forget about browsing through hundreds of different work-related contacts or random acquaintances – keep all your dear ones in one place. Forget about using the letters on the side of the screen for fast access – that’s not a faster way than finding that contact on the short favorite list.
Truth to be told, this isn’t exclusively a feature of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus. Chances are that any other Android device you have used before had this option. Maybe you have starred some contacts yourself, in the past, but you have forgotten how to do it or you now want to adjust that list. Adding or removing contacts from favorites is just as easy:
- Head to the Phone app;
- Under the Contacts section, you can scroll until you find a contact you wish to favorite;
- Next to its name, on the contact details window, there must be a star in a red circle icon;
- Tap on that star and that was it!
The alternative is to select a name from your contacts list and when you see all the information associated with it, look for the star from the top of the display. Again, suffices to tap that star and the person will be added to the favorite list.
As you can suspect, all you have to do to remove a person is to tap one more time on the same star. The Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus favorite list will automatically adjust depending on your actions, always displaying all your favorite contacts alphabetically.
