Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus: WhatsApp Data Location

The WhatsApp data location on Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is not one and the same as sharing your location data on WhatsApp. The latter is about using the Location feature to give someone your current location as a message through this texting app, while the WhatsApp data location is a general and very important setting: the place where everything you get via WhatsApp is stored on the Samsung Galaxy S9.

How To Identify Galaxy S9 WhatsApp Data Location…

  1. Open the App menu;
  2. Go to My Files;
  3. Select Device Memory;
  4. Select WhatsApp;
    • Next, tap on the Databases folder to access all your chats archives, encrypted and encoded;
    • Or tap on the Media folder to access all your images and videos as received from other WhatsApp users.


You can choose to back up any of the two folders or both of them, depending on what you really want. The db.crypt12 files from the Databases folder are text encrypted files while the files from the Media folder… you already know what they are. If you want them both, suffices to make a safe copy of the entire WhatsApp folder.
