They say once you get used to working with your Google Assistant on Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus, you never want to get back to not using it. But there may be instances when you will find yourself unable to access this virtual assistant. You use the regular commands yet you get no answer or, even worse, you see an error “Offline. No network available” that urges you to check your connection and try to use the Google Assistant again after that.
What can you do when Google for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus seems to be offline? First, you obviously check the connection. Is your Internet working just fine and the error appears to be unjustified? We still have three other fixes to suggest you:
- Reset all the connections with the Airplane Mode;
- Restart the device;
- Clear the Google App data.
To activate the Airplane Mode…
All you have to do is to access the Quick Settings menu by sliding down the Notification shade and to tap on the dedicated Airplane Mode icon. Let it stay active for 10 seconds or so and then turn it back off. Try to use the Google Assistant once again.
By doing so, as suggested, you have cut off all the connections. When you turn it Off, all those previously blocked connections will get a clean, fresh start, possibly eliminating whatever is giving you problems right now.
To restart the device…
Tap on the Power key and hold it until you see a menu with options on the screen. Tap on Restart and wait for your Samsung Galaxy S8 to reboot. Check the Google Assistant once again.
To clear the Google App data…
- Go to Settings;
- Launch the Apps menu;
- Select the Google App;
- Tap on Storage;
- Tap on “Clear data”.
One of these three simple options will be the fix for your Google shows as offline error on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus.
