If you’ve just recently started to use a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, perhaps you have noticed a special section within its Contacts app labeled as Favorites. Ever wonder what does it mean or what kind of advantages you might have from using it?
This tutorial will share with you everything you need to know about the Favorite Contacts and how to use it to personalize your agenda. The name is rather suggestive and it defines a list of contacts that can always be accessed much easier than everyone else listed within the agenda.
If you have a limited number of contacts, the feature might not seem revelatory to you. Nevertheless, you will barely notice how your contacts list is getting longer and longer and, at some point, you will find yourself hoping for an alternative to bring some contacts on top of the list without having to adjust their names so that they begin with the A letter. The alternative was to hit the Letters listed on the side of the Agenda and go straight to the group of contacts whose names begin with the selected letter, but even that is pretty time-consuming.
Assuming you don’t have hundreds of persons you’d like to set as Favorites, here are the simple instructions for personalizing this special list:
- Launch the Phone app;
- Swipe right or left until you make it to the Contacts tab;
- Start scrolling through the names listed in there until you find one you wish to add to Favorites;
- Tap on it;
- Tap on the Star symbol from the red circle and it will automatically be added to the Favorites list as well.
The alternative is to access that contact’s information page and, just the same, tap on the star displayed in the upper area of the screen. Both actions will have the same result.
It’s important to remember, the contacts added to Favorites will also be kept in the general list of contacts. The names under that special section will always be listed alphabetically, which means that you cannot bring a particular contact in front of another one unless, as previously suggested, you edit the name to start with letter A.
Needless to insist on this, contacts can be directly deleted from the Favorites list or removed by tapping once again on the Star symbol within a particular contact’s information page. Calling with your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be even more intuitive from now on!
