How To Change Languages On Samsung Note 8

Want to offer a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as a gift to someone who doesn’t master English too well? Or, perhaps, you’ve bought it from someone who had another language than English set on it? No problem, you can easily change languages on Note 8. You have a list of predefined languages that you can choose from – English, Spanish, German, Italian, Korean and so on – and the option to download a new language.

You should know, though, that these changes will affect the entire device, the settings of all your apps (third-party apps included!) and pretty much everything you can think of! If that’s what you want, you’ll be curious on how to apply the same changes to your keyboard language. Because that’s probably the only thing that will need a separate approach when trying to change the language of your Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

As a side note, the keyboard can support more than one language at once, letting you select the active language by swiping the space bar! And since we’ve already given you so many details, perhaps we should begin with this set of instructions – there are many users out there who only need an extra language for their keyboard, not necessarily for the entire smartphone.

What you need to do to adjust the Note 8 keyboard language:

  1. Turn on the device;
  2. Go to the Home Page and access the Notification Shade;
  3. Open the Settings section from there;
  4. Find the Language & Input section – it will be right under the System section;
  5. Identify the keyboard listed in there;
  6. Next to the keyboard, you’ll see a gear icon that once you tap will open you a list of languages;
  7. Check and uncheck the boxes next to the languages that you want to activate and to remove;
  8. Leave the menus and return to any app that uses the keyboard;
  9. Swipe the space bar sideways to move from one language to another and test your new keyboard language settings.

What you need to do to adjust the Note 8 system language:

  1. Return to Settings;
  2. Select My Device;
  3. Select Input and Control;
  4. Tap on Language and Input;
  5. Hit the Language option;
  6. Select your preferred language;
  7. If you can’t find it on that list, root the smartphone;
  8. Then, download and run the MoreLocale 2;
  9. Within the MoreLocale 2, tap custom locale;
  10. Tap ISO639;
  11. Tap ISO3166;
  12. Pick your country and your language;
  13. Tap Set when you’re ready.

With these final instructions, you can change languages on Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and set up any language you can think of. Enjoy!
