How To Check Data Usage On Samsung Note 9 And Note 8

Whether you have Samsung Note 8, Note 9 or any other Samsung smartphone, the internet is required for almost anything. You require the internet to even book a ride.

When you are using a Wi-Fi device, it is not a problem for you to keep your internet on for 24/7 but when you are using mobile data, it is a problem. Unlimited volume for mobile data is rarely available at any corner of the world, so you have to keep an eye on your data usage on Note 9 or Note 8.

Exceeding the limit of allotted data volume can lead you to a heavy loss. As you increase your data limit you are overcharged and you might exceed your budget if you carry on using the internet.

So, what you can do in order to avoid getting overcharged by the companies? You can always set a mobile data limit for your smartphone and set warnings as well when you are about to reach the limit.

Today we will cover what you need to do in order to set a limit mobile data usage on Note 9 and Note 8.

How can we access to the data usage center?

The method to access data usage is a little bit different for all the smartphones but not very different. You can access your data usage menu easily on any Samsung smartphone by following these steps:

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Find “Connections”. It is found under the network settings for any smartphone. Find your network settings.
  3. Tap on “Data Usage”.

What is within the Data Usage menu?

You will see all the apps you are using in a series that shows which app is consuming most of your mobile data in descending order.

Apart from this list of apps, you will also see a graph at the top which shows your average weekly or monthly usage of the data. You can have a look at that to see if you use more or less than your allotted data volume.

How can you set up data Usage limits on Note 9 and Note 8?

Here is what you need to do in order to set a limit for your data usage:

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Go to Connections or network settings.
  3. Tap on data usage.
  4. There you will see a graph that will show you your data usage. It will have two sliders, one is used to set the maximum limit and 2nd is used to set the reminder which will remind you when you are about to reach the limit.
  5. Use these two sliders to set the maximum limit and the remainder for your data usage.

Alternative method

If you have a limited amount of mobile data, turn off the data usage on Note 9 and Note 8 for unnecessary apps like TV, social media etc. that you don’t use often. How can you do this? Here is what you need to do:

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Go to the network settings
  3. Tap on the data usage.
  4. Tap on the app you don’t want to use on mobile data.
  5. Scroll till the end, you will see an option for “Restrict background data”. Mark the check box.
  6. All done. Know all the features and get complete benefit from your smartphone.

This will stop that app from accessing mobile data at the background when you are not using that particular app.

Cheers!
