Great smartphones often comes with criticism, especially in the parts which it lacks. With this new phone offered by Samsung, some have complained about slow charging on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. Every problem has a solution; therefore, there are several ways you can solve the slow charging problem of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
Before all of that, make sure that the charging cable is working perfectly with full capacity. Because, in many cases the Galaxy S9 charges really slow because the cable is damaged or doesn’t work anymore.
To find out if whether the cable is working or not, try to charge your Galaxy S9 with another USB cable and see if it solves the problem. If you see that after switching the cable the device is charging just fine, then you should just get a new charger cable for your Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
If the cable is not the reason of the slow charging, then you can fix Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus slow charging with some simple solutions.
In case of a master reset, each and every one of your pictures, data, apps, everything will be deleted permanently. So, you need to back up all the data before doing a master reset. To do a master reset, follow the steps below:
- Open the settings of the device
- Select accounts
- Click on “Back Up and Reset”
- There will be a lock on the screen which you will need to unlock with your security pattern or code.
- Click on “Reset Device”
- After that, select “Delete All”
Close Background Apps
Sometimes, the problem of slow charging happens because of the apps running in the background. You can stop the background apps by the steps below:
- Click and hold the home button and release it when the recently used applications screen appears.
- Select ‘End all apps” in the section of task manager.
- Click on the “RAM” option at the top of the screen.
By following these steps, you can close your background apps to speed up your phone.
Uninstall Third party Applications
If the solutions mentioned above don’t work for fixing the slow charging issue on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, there could be software bug that is interrupting the process. This problem can be solved by uninstalling third party software.
To uninstall the third party apps, you will need to enable “Safe Mode” in your Galaxy S9. After that, just uninstall any third party software that is causing your Galaxy S9 to charge slowly. To enable “Safe Mode”, you need to turn off the smartphone and then press and hold the power button to enable “Safe Mode”. When the Samsung Galaxy S9 text appears in the screen, start pressing the volume down key. When your phone restarts, “Safe Mode” will turn on. At that point, you can release any key you are holding.
After enabling Safe Mode, you can follow this method to find your third party applications: Menu > Settings > More > Application Manager > Downloaded. In here, all of your third party apps are listed, and you can simply select any of them and then select uninstall option from the top.
After uninstalling third party apps, you will need to disable the Safe Mode. In order to do that, just hold down the power button, and then select restart.
Dumping the System
After dumping the system, your device will perform different functions. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to make your network speed faster:
- Click “Dialer”
- Type *#9900#
- Select “Low Battery Dump” from the lower of the page
- Select “Turn On”
