So, there’s no wonder that your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus has this Quick Launch option for the Camera app. In fact, it’s been in place since the release of the Galaxy S9 and it was obviously kept because people are very pleased with it.
If you had no idea that you have this option or if you had a clue but you don’t know how to activate it, allow us to give you a little help. There are, in fact, two different ways for you to Quick Launch the Camera app:
- You can add a shortcut on the Lock Screen.
- You can use the default Home button shortcut.
By simply listing the two of them we’ve said pretty much everything there was to say. As you can imagine, the first option will require you to navigate through the settings of the smartphone, find the Lock Screen options, and add the Camera shortcut to it. Then, when you want to take a picture, you must wake up the screen of the device – just wake up, not unlock! – and you can swipe the Camera icon to launch the app.
This option is fast, certainly faster than the one of unlocking the phone and looking for the Camera app’s icon somewhere on the Home Screen. But you can do faster and the second option is actually what the manufacturer calls the Quick Launch of the Camera app.
We said it’s a default option because you don’t need to do anything about it, it’s readily available for use. So, press the Home button for two times in a row and the Camera app will pop up on the display. Without even having to wake up the screen and with the added benefit that it will speed up the autofocus!
Of course, we cannot end this tutorial without giving you the alternative of disabling this default Camera app Quick Launch feature. Just in case you’ll want to use it later, remember you must go to Settings, at the Quick Launch toggle, and set its status to Off. Now, you decide how you want to access the Camera from your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus. Let us know if you learned how to quick launch camera app on Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus.
