This is your chance to learn how to use personal ringtones on every single one of your contacts.

It’s easier than you’d thought and personalizing ringtones and notification sounds can also be fun. As you’ll see when you get started, you can do it for all your contacts or only for some of them. You can use your own music and you can create a custom ringtone. How, you wonder?

Changing ringtones of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus contacts

With your smartphone turned on, the Dialer app is where you need to go. Once in there, browse among the most recent calls or the contacts in your agenda and select one contact that you want to edit.

With the contact selected, you should be able to spot a pen-shaped icon. This icon will enable you to edit that contact. Tap on it and then select the Ringtone button from the list of options.

A window will pop up on the screen and you will get the list of pre-defined ringtones. Try them and see if you like any of them in particular. You can select a ringtone from that list or you can tap the Add button.

If you go for the second option, you will have to browse on your smartphone until you select the specific song that you want to set as a ringtone for your contact.

There are two things you need to remember at this point. One would be that the song you select must be stored on your smartphone. If it’s not there, you need to copy or to download it on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus. The second one is that you have personalized a single contact.

If you want to do it for more contacts, you can manually retake these steps. For each contact that you select and edit you can pick a different MP3. All the other contacts will remain with the default ringtone.

Now you know how to personalize things a little bit. When the contacts calling you most often have their ringtones personalized, you won’t even have to take the phone out of your pocket and you’ll know who’s calling.
