Many of you might have realized that after install a couple of apps on your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus device, the said device will take a much longer time to boot. The device performance also slows down. You then realize there are tons of apps loading on startup. Many of the applications have absolutely no setting to block them from launching on start up.
Fortunately, there are a couple of solutions you can try out to prevent applications from automatically launching on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus.
Option 1: freeze the applications
Some Android smartphones will provide you with the option to ‘Freeze’ apps. This is otherwise known as “disabling’’ in most devices. This feature is especially useful for those applications that come pre-installed on your device, hence cannot be uninstalled.
Freeze those apps with the following steps:
- Open ‘’Settings’’> “Applications”> “Application Manager”
- Select the app you want frozen
- Hit “Switch OFF” or ‘’Disable”
These options will normally vary depending on the smartphone you are using and the version of your Android operating system.
Option 2: Start Cleaner
Startup Manager is a third party app that will normally solve the auto starting problems of your device. These app launches on startup and blocks the highlighted apps from starting when you boot your device. Follow the following steps for the solution.
- Download and install the Startup Manager app from Google Play store.
- Open the application and touch the – sign adjacent to the apps you wish to stop their launch on start-up
It is important to note that you should only disable the items that are listed under the “User” tab. Be careful when disabling the items under “System’’
Now the highlighted apps will no longer run on startup of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus.
