How To Turn OFF Message Preview On Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus

The Message Preview on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is a special notification option that smartphone users. It is active by default and it makes your phone to show up snippets of text messages, new, incoming messages, right on the lock screen. Is The Message Preview A Useful Or A Disturbing Option?

The answer to this question would very much depend on who you’re asking… In theory, the option was meant to shorten your way from getting a message to actually seeing its content, who sent it, and even getting to reply to it faster.

How To Turn Off The Message Preview On Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus?

  1. Begin by going to the Settings app, from where you can tweak the settings of your message notifications;
  2. Navigate all the way to the Applications section;
  3. Select the Messages option;
  4. Select Notifications;
  5. Find the Preview Messages feature listed on that window;
  6. Uncheck the boxes associated with the features that you want to deactivate – you’ll only have the Lock Screen and the Status Bar listed in there.

 

If you uncheck the Lock Screen and leave the Status Bar, you will only get message preview notifications in the Status Bar. This means that the lock screen will stop displaying it and you will have to use the passcode to unlock your phone whenever you want to see that message preview on Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus.
