The great performances of your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus technology left aside, you have to agree with us: it looks a bit cluttered. Having all too many symbols displayed at the top of the screen, within the Status Bar, is something that many Samsung fans have been complaining about.
So, one by one, some more or less relevant symbols are taken out from the Status Bar, for all the right reasons. Judging by the topic of this new tutorial, the NFC is one of those things that you don’t really want to take up precious space.
Those who know a little bit about Near Field Communication (NFC) would suspect that it takes rooting the device in order to get rid of it. But this wireless connection option that works hand in hand with NFC tags and NFC readers can be skipped a lot easier than you suspected.
Say you’re not one of those people who access web pages, make payments or calls with NFC on Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus? Then you clearly don’t need it and our advice on how to get rid of it from the basic settings of your phone will come in handy.
The simple instructions on how to turn off Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus NFC:
- It all begins with the Settings section, which you can access either from the Notification Bar or from the App Drawer;
- Open up the Settings and you’ll have to search for a special tab, displayed towards the bottom of the list, named NFC & Payments;
- If you select the NFC & Payments menu, you’ll see the NFC option listed underneath it;
- Like all the other options, this one too has its own toggle that can be switched from On to Off with just one tap – do that and you’re done.
Assuming it all went smoothly, the NFC once disabled from Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus, you’ll see that the NFC symbol disappeared from the Status Bar. Note, however, that if you are working with the Sprint carrier, chances are you’ll notice no difference because that symbol wasn’t there even when you had the NFC active.
If you know for a fact that, even with another carrier, you don’t get to see the NFC symbol on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, do not stress out about it. Suffices to follow our suggestions and consider the problem of how to turn off NFC on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
