Customization is a key attribute of the most popular smartphones currently on the market. Luckily, manufacturers have realized, early on, that the more control options they provide their users with, the more success their smartphones will enjoy. With Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus, customization goes pretty much without saying.
In today’s article, we’d like to show you what to do about the icons that you have on the lock screen of your smartphone, with a special focus on the weather widget. This one is among the most popular widgets placed on the lock screen of a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus.
Turning it On or Off, meaning having it displayed on the lock screen or removing it right away, is a pretty simple process. If you want to learn how to do it, just follow the detailed instructions listed below and the problem is solved. Bear in mind that the steps are similar for handling other widgets as well!
To access the weather widget on Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus…
- Open the Apps tray;
- Tap on the Settings icon;
- Select the Lock Screen feature;
- Then, tap on the Lock Screen option;
- Identify the Weather box listed in there.
At this point, suffices to tap on the Weather option to change its status. If the box was checked, meaning that the widget was enabled, you tap on it once and it will uncheck, disappearing from the lock screen of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus.
If it was unchecked, the effect will be just the opposite. From now on, you can make the weather information to turn on or off, right next to the current location displayed on the lock screen, whenever you need.
