With the Spell Check option active on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Note 9 and Note 10, whenever you type a word that might contain some kind of typos or spelling errors, you get a subtle notification. Words that could use a revision are underlined in red and, the moment you tap on it, you also get suggestions on forms that the spell checker considers to fit better than anything else.
Of course, it is up to you to decide if you want to use the suggested form or if you prefer to ignore the alternatives. You might discover that not all the suggestions associated with the highlighted words are appropriate, which is ok. As long as it makes no automatic adjustments, like the autocorrect, you have all the reasons to want to benefit from this useful spell checking feature.
When you’re ready to activate the Note 8/Note 9/Note 10 Spell Check feature of your keyboard settings, follow the steps from below:
- Turn on the phone;
- Stop on the main screen, to swipe down the Menu;
- Select the Settings icon to access the Android System settings;
- Tap on Language and Input;
- Select the built-in Samsung keyboard;
- Tap on Auto Check Spelling.
As you’re probably used, this kind of setting will switch its status the moment you tap it. If it was previously disabled, you have just activated it. You can now start to use the Spell Check on Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Note 9 and Note 8. When you want to take a break, just tap the same option once again to turn it from On to Off.
