How To Use S Note On Samsung Note 9 And Note 8

The S Note app on Note 9 and Note 8 that comes preinstalled on any Samsung device certainly drew everyone’s attention long before it officially became reality. Now that you have it at your disposal, you might feel the need for a resource with quick tips regarding the most common actions that you have at hand.

That’s what this article is about, a short series of punchy notes that introduce you to the essentials of working with S Note on Samsung Note 9 and Note 8. Let’s get started!

The templates

A template is a general design that you get to see whenever you launch the S Note app or whenever you want to create a new note. The app comes with a list of templates that you can choose from, starting with blank sheets and simple checklists to meeting agenda notes and so on.

The first time you launch the S Note on Note 9 and Note 8, you will be asked to select the default template. This is just a starting point, as you will always be able to edit that template on the go.

The extra options

Aside from picking your favorite template, you can also pick a favorite tool to work with. For this purpose, you have a dedicated menu button – recording your sketches and magnify your notes are two of the most common options but make sure you explore everything in there.

Getting started

With your default template in place, you can expect to see it whenever you launch the S Note on Note 9 and Note 8. To create a new note suffices to tap the Pen tool displayed at the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

While you’re at it, consider switching from typed notes to free hand writing or the other way around. Look for the T symbol, it’s next to the Pen tool, and configure your writing from there – the desired color, the writing utensil and so on. Just consider that there are writing tools with thicker tips than others and adjust your expectations accordingly.

Quick options

From all the things that you can do with your Note 8 and Note 9 S Note – aside from creating a new note with the Pen icon or switching to the handwriting option, the next most common quick options are the undo and the redo. You’ll find these two right at the top of the screen, next to the menu button. For everything else, check your options as they are listed within the main menu of your Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9 S Note.
