Language Settings For Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy S8 or a Galaxy S8+ Plus and can’t get around of its language settings? How to change the language of the device

If you want to change the language of Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus, you need to know that once you do that, the entire user interface will change its language. Every menu, every option, and every message you get from the operating system, as well as the third-party applications, will be in the newly selected language. If you’re ok with that, proceed with the following steps:

  1. Drag down the Menu bar;
  2. Tap on Settings;
  3. Tap on My Device;
  4. Scroll down to the Input and control section;
  5. Tap on Language and Input;
  6. Select Language;
  7. Select your desired language.


How to change the language of keyboard on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus

If you want to change the language on Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus keyboard, you should know that depending on your selection, letters, symbols, and punctuation could change their position on the new keyboard.

Nevertheless, when you select a new keyboard language, you’re not giving up on the old one. On the contrary, you will be able to use them alternatively, however you need, changing them by swiping sideways on the space bar.

  1. Drag down the Menu bar;
  2. Tap on Settings;
  3. Scroll to the System section;
  4. Tap on Language and Input;
  5. Look for the Keyboard and select the gear icon to choose your desired language;
  6. Once you have found your desired language(s), check the box(es) next to it;
  7. If there are languages previously selected that you want to deactivate, uncheck the boxes next to it.


Next time you access a window with keyboard, you should be able to swipe between your different keyboard languages as indicated above.


Important note – If you can’t find language on Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus:

  1. Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus;
  2. Download and install the MoreLocale 2 Android app from Google Play;
  3. Run the MoreLocale 2 app and from the top of its interface tap on Custom locale;
  4. Tap the buttons labeled as ISO639 and ISO3166 to select the country and the language from the predefined list.
  5. Tap on Set when you’re ready.


Now go back to the above menus and see if you can find your language this time. You will find it, so retake these steps to tweak the language of your smartphone and keyboard.
