Note 8 Camera Not Working Solution

If your Galaxy Note 8 camera is not functioning, you may choose to take it to a specialist to have it assessed for problems. This specialist should be able to return your camera to working order. However, this could result in not having your Galaxy device for a few days and could cost a lot of money. Also, having your phone repaired by a third-party company voids your warranty.

If the problem you are seeing includes a message saying “Warning! Camera error,” you may not be able to take any photos or videos. To avoid high costs or wait times, you may need to want to try to repair the issue yourself.

It is hard to determine at this stage whether it is a hardware or software issue, but there are still a few options you can try to fix the camera on your Galaxy device.

 

Begin with a simple restart

Sometimes, the camera is not the problem. Instead, you may be experiencing some Android software issues. In case this is the problem, try restarting your phone. Just turn it off, allow it to sit for a few second to completely reset, and then turn it back on. When your phone restarts, check the camera again to see if the problem has been resolved. If not, try the next option.

 

Reset the Camera app

You may need to reset the Camera application in order to resolve your camera issues. You will need to access the Android Application Manager to achieve this application reset.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  2. Open the settings menu
  3. Now, select the Applications option
  4. Continue to open the applications manager from this screen
  5. Access the drop-down menu and select All Apps
  6. Find and select the camera app
  7. This will open a window containing information on your camera app
  8. Now, select this options in the following order:
    • Force Stop
    • Storage>Clear Cache
    • Clear Data
    • Now your device should restart.

 

When your device loads and you are back at your home screen, try to access the camera app. This should have reset all of the camera settings, including flash modes and resolution. Hopefully, this fixed your camera bug. If not, keep reading.

 

Check the Camera module

This is a simple option. You will just need to open and check a simple setting. The setting will help you determine your next steps. To find this setting:

  1. open the Service menu
  2. Select the Mega Cam option
  3. This window will let you view the camera image. You should be able to see if the camera module of currently functional.
  4. If there is no image available, your camera is broken.
  5. If there is a camera image, you should proceed to troubleshoot to find your software issue.

 

This may be cause for a factory reset. If this option does not clear up your camera problems, you may need to contact your mobile provider and use your warranty option to replace your Samsung Note 8 device. If you do not have a warranty, you can still ask about replacing the camera module in your device.
