Among the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus users, there are people who love to use the Always-On Display feature. At the same time, there are also people who prefer to keep the screen of their devices turned off for as long as possible.
If you are from the second category, it probably annoys you how the phone can accidentally turn its screen on, even in situations when you weren’t planning on using it. For instance, you shove it in the purse or in your pocket, only to find out, minutes or hours later, when you take it out, that the screen was turned on, who knows for how long…Lucky for you, Samsung took care of this issue by implementing a special software feature.
Do you want to prevent Galaxy S9 screen from accidentally turning on in the pocket?
- Go to the Home Screen and access the App drawer from the Apps icon;
- In this menu, select the Display option;
- On that long list of options that you’ll be getting access to, you have one labeled as “Keep the screen turned off”;
- Select that option to enable it and leave the settings.
In just 3 super simple steps – Apps >> Display >> Keep Screen Turned Off – you get to make sure that your Samsung Galaxy S9 display will no longer turn on when you keep the phone in the pocket. This feature will actually address the event when the Power key is pressed by mistake, which is usually the reason why your phone’s screen lights up in the pocket.
Just so you know, this feature might take you by surprise and turn off the phone’s display in other situations as well! If it’s bugging you, chances are you’ll have to retake the steps from above and disable it for good.
