Samsung Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus Sleep Mode

It can be quite troublesome trying to find “Do not disturb” mode on this device, as it’s called “blocking mode”. a name that is quite different to other devices. This is afterall, an android phone and is not permitted to use the same titles as the IPhone OS for many functions.

Follow the steps below to get this mode working for you. It is possible to customize the way the mode works. As there may still be some notification or calls you want coming through.

 

Turn ON Blocking Mode

  1. Start with your Galaxy S8 turned on.
  2. Select the Settings menu.
  3. Go through the menu until you find “Blocking Mode”.
  4. When you find it, there will be an ON & OFF switch, flick it ON.
  5. When blocking mode is active, a small circle appears in the status area to show you that it is currently on.

 

Customize Blocking Mode

Just below the Features area, there is a host of settings you can alter to customize this mode. From the sounds that come through for notifications, and those that signify a contact has been blocked from connecting. You can select exactly which mediums are blocked, whether it’s calls or messages or both.

It can also be a very good idea to arrange your blocking times in terms of dates and schedules. There is a calendar that allows you to set the periods throughout the coming days or months for which you can pre-arrange the mode to activate. This way you don’t need to worry about doing it yourself over and over.

It is possible to block every contact you have on the phone, but it is also possible to allows some to come through during this model’s activation. The are called “favorites”. You needs to select the favorites you wish to receive contact from by applying them to your custom list. The option to create this list is at the bottom of the Blocking mode page.

If there is a specific caller you want to block, that is not a contact, Blocking mode will not work for them until you have saved them to your phone. The next time they call, select the three dot sign next to their number and save them as a contact. Then when you go to create your custom list in Blocking Mode, you will be able to find them and add them to the list.

This can be important if you can sales calls or regular calls from other companies that you can’t refuse, but wish to block. It is also very important to create custom lists if you have family that need to be able to contact you at any time in the day no matter what your situation.
