Text Prediction predicts what you want to type on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Simple and intuitive, or, at least, that’s how it is supposed to be. This input technology, otherwise very smart since it interprets whatever you’re about to type based on the first letter of the word and by analyzing the entire context of the conversation, is not that flawless, however.
When you’re getting too many suggestions or some rather inappropriate typing suggestions, you might get distracted from the actual typing and try to quickly read the suggestions and pick something from the list. This is the complaint that most users have and there is only one fix for it.
To disable Predictive Text on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus:
- Go to Settings;
- Go to Language & Input;
- Tap on the Samsung Keyboard;
- Find the Predictive Text menu;
- Tap on it to turn it Off.
If the feature was already disabled, getting to this menu under the Samsung Keyboard settings will allow you to enable it once again. Together with the Predictive Text, however, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus users can also enjoy the Text Correction feature. This one will automatically correct the words you type, based on a previous history and its own constantly growing Dictionary where it memorizes the most common words that you select from the text suggestions.
The Advanced Settings of the Samsung Keyboard will put you face to face with many other controls. If you’d like to configure particular keys to type in other symbols by long pressing on them, you can do it. Take some time and juggle with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus keyboard options to learn new and amazing things about your smartphone. You might end up deciding to give the Predictive Text one more chance!
