Samsung Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus: Creating Favorite Contacts

As a new owner of a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus, you must have spotted the Favorite option within the settings of its Agenda. You probably don’t know what it is and how it helps, at least not for now, but all that will change in the next minutes.

In a nutshell, the Phone app of your smartphone, within the Contacts tab, will display all your entries alphabetically. When you have a couple of hundreds of different contacts (note that this isn’t a matter of “if”, but rather a certainty…), it can be hard to navigate through all of them.

When you want to call Mom, you’ll have to surf through your agenda all the way to the M letter and select the contact labeled as Mom from there. That, of course, if you don’t have it in the Recent tab. Anyway, you probably got the point: people you’re planning to call more often should be displayed at the top of the list, to spare you from having to search for them.

That’s precisely what setting a Favorite contact on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus does: it brings up certain selections at the top of the list of contacts!

As promised, we’re going to focus in this tutorial on how to add contacts to Favorite on Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus smartphone. If you see us referring to this action as “starring” a contact, do not worry, it means the same as “adding to Favorites”. Just read the instructions from below and you’ll understand why.

To Set Favorite Contacts On Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus device…

  1. Turn your phone on and launch the Phone app;
  2. Select the Contacts tab with one tap at the top of the app;
  3. Go through the entire list of contacts;
  4. Whenever you bump into a name you wish to add to Favorites…
    • Select that entry;
    • Identify the star in a red circle symbol;
    • Tap on that star.

Repeat these steps with any contact you wish to star or to add to Favorites. You’ll then see that all the starred names are now being displayed at the top of your Contacts section, again, alphabetically. Make sure you’re not adding to Favorites too many contacts so that you’ll have a hard time finding the people you want to call even on that short list!

Now that you know how to set Favorite contacts on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus… You should know this too: when you no longer want to keep a contact in the Favorites list, simply select it and tap on its star symbol to cancel the listing.
