Samsung Note 8 And Note 9: How To Fix “Not Registered On Network And Repair Null IMEI Number” Error Message

  1. Unlock the phone;
  2. Launch the phone app;
  3. Go to the Dialer;
  4. Type (*#06#) and see what you get;
    • If you receive the IMEI number, it means that the IMEI is ok;
    • If you receive the IMEI Null message, it means you need to restore that null IMEI, in which case you will have to:
      1. Type (*#197328640#) or (*#*#197328640#*#*);
      2. Select Common, as soon as you enter the Command mode;
      3. Select Option 1 – Field Test Mode;
      4. Turn off the FTM if it is active;
      5. Hit the Menu key icon;
      6. Leave the Command screen;
      7. Select Key input;
      8. Enter option 2 and turn off the FTM;
      9. Remove the battery;
      10. Remove the SIM;
      11. After 2 minutes, put back ONLY the battery;
      12. Use the Dialer to type in (*#197328640#);
      13. From there, select the Debug Screen;
      14. Select Phone Control;
      15. Select NAS Control;
      16. Tap on RRC – HSDPA;
      17. Click RRC revision to fix the Null IMEI # or the Not Registered on Network issue;
      18. Click on the released your phone;
      19. Select option 6 – HSDPA only;
      20. Power off the smartphone;
      21. Put back the SIM;
      22. Turn it on and see if you still get the error.
