The touch keys of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may not stand out when the phone is not in use. But the moment you unlock the device, you should see them both lighting up. If that’s not the case, there are two options to blame.
One of them is that the touch keys got broken – it is something that many Note 8 users fear of and, luckily, it is something that happens quite rarely. The other one is that the option that normally enables these keys to light up was deactivated. This second option is more plausible, especially as the Emergency Saving Mode is known to shut off any unnecessary battery consumption, like lighting up these keys.
Since an actual problem with those soft keys would imply taking your smartphone to an authorized technician, it helps to test the second option first, right?
The easy way to fix the Touch Key light on Samsung Galaxy Note 8:
- Turn on your phone;
- Go to the main screen and swipe down the Notification Shade;
- Access the Settings gear;
- Navigate to Quick Settings;
- Go to Power Saving;
- Under the Power Saving Mode, look for Restrict Performance menu;
- Identify the option “Turn off Touch Key light”;
- The box next to it should be checked and you simply need to uncheck this option.
Have you followed these exact steps? Have you found the option that says to turn off the touch key light as active? Then it means, just like we have suggested above, that your problem was just an issue in the settings of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Now that you have fixed it, feel free to test the touch keys. The light should now be turned on without any kind of problems.
