The other option on how you can create/set the favorite on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus is by selecting the name in your contacts list. Once the contact information comes up, look out for a star normally at the top of the screen. When you press on the star, that contact automatically updates to your favorites.
It is important to know that, by default, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus is not set to let you sort your favorites in order where the most important contacts appear at the top. Instead, the contacts will be listed alphabetically.
If there is a contact you wish to remove from the favorites list, go to the contact information of that person and uncheck the star, or simply delete the contact altogether to remove the person from the favorites list.
