Stop App Update Notifications On Samsung Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus

Update notifications are great because they let you receive relevant information on the latest things that happened with your apps. Instead of staying on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. all day long, you get notifications when something happens and you decide if you want to use the app in the updated form or not. The problem, however, occurs after you install tons of different apps on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus and you end up receiving tons of app notifications.

But the even more annoying part is probably receiving app update notifications. The more apps you run on your smartphone, the more often you will have to update something and the Google Play Store will keep reminding you of. At first, you felt good about manually approving these updates. You felt in control. But, as time goes by and your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus keeps pushing such notifications, you might feel the need to activate the auto-update process and spare yourself from all the trouble.

For those who fear that once they do that they won’t be able to manually handle these permissions again, here are the instructions:

To turn automatic app updates On or Off…

  1. Open the Play Store;
  2. Go to its menu (the 3-lines icon from the top left corner);
  3. From the slide-out menu that will pop-up on the display, select the Settings entry;
  4. Look for the Auto-update Apps option and tap on it;
  5. In there, you will see two options that you get to choose from:
  6. Automatically update apps;
  7. Do not auto-update apps.

Depending on whether you want this feature to be enabled or disabled for your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus, you can choose one of these.
