Your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus features a function that helps correcting your typos and a wide range of other spelling errors. This Spell Check function should assist you on sending emails and text messages more easily, without worrying too much about how you wrote. Whenever the app considers a misspelled word, it will underline it in red. Then, it’s up to you if you want to follow the suggestions or leave the word as it is.
If you want to use the Spell Check on your smartphone, you will notice that, in some instances, the suggestions are not necessarily correct and the underlined words are not necessarily misspelled.
If you don’t want to use the Spell Check, you might feel annoyed seeing red lines on your texts and messages. Even if you want to ignore it, you might feel stressed that maybe you’ve really misspelled words and what the recipient of the message will think of you?
Whatever your position, we’re going to show you how can you tweak this function.
How to turn On or Off the Spell Check on Galaxy S8/S8+ Plus
- Access the Menu;
- Tap on Settings;
- Tap on Language & Input;
- Select Samsung keyboard;
- Select Auto Check Spelling.
As you can probably guess, if you want to disable it, under the same menu, you tap once again on Auto Check Spelling and it will move from On to Off.
Also obvious, you’ve accessed the settings for the Samsung keyboard. If you’ve been using a third-party one, something you downloaded from the Google Play, the menus might be a bit different.
