A lot has changed in good with Samsung’s latest flagships, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus. And a lot just changed, period. So, if you were wondering if you can still use the Samsung Kies 3 software to transfer files between your new smartphone and a computer, the answer is a plain No.
This, of course, doesn’t mean you’re left without a file transfer solution. Instead of the old Kies 3, now you have a Samsung Smart Switch software that you can use in order to sync your phone and your PC together.
Basically, you’re getting the same results, but with different means. The software you need to install on the computer has about 37MB and you can download it directly from the official website.
Here are the two links from where you can get the:
After you have clicked on one of these two links, you will see the instructions for downloading the software. The installation should run smoothly and once you have set it on the PC, the process is pretty much similar with the one of Kies 3 software:
- You connect the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus with the PC where you have installed the Smart Switch;
- You wait for the smartphone to sync;
- A list of options will show up on the screen, just like it used to do with the Kies 3;
- You select the desired action and proceed with the transfer.
At this point, you should be able to transfer any kind of files. Whether it’s photographs or some videos, all your contacts with their details, all the messages you’ve stored on your device, even the notes, and many other files, it’s all doable.
Feel free to explore these options and make the best of your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus and the newly launched Samsung Smart Switch.
