Discover Maglight App On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8+ Plus

The Torchlight is a simple and handy app you can easily turn on when using a Samsung Galaxy S8 or even a Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus. The name probably says it all, yet we cannot help but making a short intro for this function.

With the Torchlight on, you basically transform your smartphone into a flashlight. Before you get too excited, we have to mention that the Torchlight may not perfectly match a LED Maglight. Even so, it still does a wonderful job in bringing some light when you’re in the darkest places.

Don’t think that it’s useless, the manufacturer actually considered it so important that it placed its icon on the main Menu of your device. In this article, however, we’re going to show you how to move the Torchlight right on your Home screen and make it accessible with a simple tap on the display.

Basically, you will learn how to place the widget dedicated to this app wherever you want, so you can easily turn it on and off. You’ll notice it looks just like any other app’s icon, only that instead of launching an app and opening a window, it will just turn on the light on the back of your phone. Shall we proceed?

How to place the Torchlight icon on Home screen of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus

Put your fingers into motion and press down on the Home screen. Go through the Wallpapers, Widgets, and then Home screen settings:

  1. Browse for the Widgets menu and tap on it;
  2. From the list of available widgets, tap on the Torch;
  3. Hold the Torch until you can move it and drag it to any open space on your Home screen;
  4. Release the hold.

The Torchlight icon should now remain on the Home screen of your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ Plus. Every time you want to use it, you just tap on it to turn it on. Again, tap on it to turn it off when you no longer need the flashlight.

Now that we answered the question “How do I use flashlight on Galaxy S8“, we need to mention that the above steps could slightly vary depending on the smartphone you have and the OS version. Other than that, we invite you to comment below on what are the circumstances when you’re using the Torchlight most often.
